Privacy policy

This policy explains what information dawah.pro collects and how it is used. It covers the website and the app.

Reading the site

You can read everything without signing up for anything. We don’t show adverts, and we don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.

Settings kept in your browser

The site remembers the language you choose, whether you prefer light or dark, whether you have switched on Under-18 mode and, if you choose a path, the path and how far you have got, so it can show you the next step. The pages you save or mark as done are kept in your browser too. So that it can offer to add the site to your home screen from your second day, it notes the days you visited and remembers if you pressed “Not now”. Clearing your browser data removes all of these from your browser.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, its servers receive standard technical information, such as your IP address and the pages you request, to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Counting visits

To see how many people read the site and from which countries, we use Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and keeps nothing in your browser. For each page you open, it records the page, the site you came from, your approximate location (country, region and city), and your browser, operating system and kind of device. It does not record anything you type into a search. These records are only counted together, and they are not tied to you or to your IP address. Vercel tells visits apart with a code made from your request, which it deletes after 24 hours.

Finding a mosque

The mosque finder uses OpenStreetMap’s map data. When you search, the place you type is sent to OpenStreetMap’s search service (Nominatim), or to Photon, a search service run by Komoot, if Nominatim cannot find it. The area around that place is then sent to Photon and to public OpenStreetMap servers, among them VK’s maps.mail.ru, and, if they find nothing, to OpenStreetMap’s search service, to find the mosques nearby.

Writing to us

If you write to us on the Contact page, we first email you a code, to check the address is yours. Your email address, the topic, your message and the page you came from are then emailed to us, so we can answer you. These emails are sent through Resend, an email service. The site itself stores none of it, and we keep your message only as long as we need it to reply.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page.
